ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Police say an Albuquerque man’s prized baseball, signed by Babe Ruth, and other sports memorabilia was stolen by his own daughter.

The Albuquerque Journal reports (https://bit.ly/1xNoYGS) that 32-year-old Michele Ortiz and her husband, Abraham Ortiz, were booked into jail Thursday. The couple faces multiple charges including burglary, larceny over $20,000 and conspiracy.

James Bennett reported the theft of $100,000 worth of items from his home on March 10.

Bennett told police he suspected his daughter because she had asked for money and knew where he hid the baseball.

When the baseball was discovered for sale on eBay, detectives located the online seller who identified the suspects as the people he bought the merchandise from.

Police have recovered $10,000 worth of items but have yet to get the baseball.
