CORONA, Calif. (AP) - A former Riverside County high school teacher who admitted having sex with five male students has been sentenced to three years in state prison.

KNBC-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1Fue8Wk) Summer Michelle Hansen sobbed and apologized for her actions before the judge sentenced her on Friday. The 32-year-old, who taught at Centennial High in Corona, could have faced up to 13 years in prison.

The special-education teacher pleaded guilty to seven felony counts including statutory rape and unlawful oral copulation with a minor.

A mother of one of the victims called the three-year sentence a slap on the wrist and called Hansen a predator.

Prosecutors identified five boys under age 18 who allegedly had sexual contact with the teacher on school grounds, in a car, and at the home of one of the teens.

None of the alleged victims were her students.
