CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - A Clarksville man working security at private party is charged with reckless endangerment and unlawful possession of a weapon after he shot himself in the leg while trying to break up a fight.

The Leaf Chronicle reports (https://leafne.ws/1xNvU6T ) Diamond Dillard told police he accidentally shot himself last week after his gun fell from his vest and struck the ground. Witnesses said Dillard was holding the weapon when it went off.

According to warrants, Dillard did not own the handgun he was carrying. He did not have a permit to carry a concealed weapon. He also did not have a permit to carry a weapon as a security guard.

He was being held in Montgomery County Jail on $30,000 bond.

No phone number was listed for him in a local directory.
