LAKE HAVASU CITY, Ariz. (AP) - A family visiting Lake Havasu City’s London Bridge last walked across the historic structure when it was in its original home across the pond.

John and Margaret Casey say strolling the London Bridge on Thursday brought back memories of walking it numerous times in London in the 1960s.

The couple, who live in Ireland, was visiting their daughter and her husband in Chandler. They told the Arizona Daily Sun (https://bit.ly/1Ic74kS ) their son-in-law proposed a reunion with the bridge.

The couple believes not many people can say they walked the bridge on two different continents in two different centuries.

Lake Havasu City founder Robert McCulloch bought the bridge from the city of London in 1968 for approximately $2 million. It was brought piece by piece to Lake Havasu.
