BUCKLEY, Wash. (AP) - Transportation officials say they’ve closed the White River Bridge on State Route 410 after an inspection revealed cracks.
KOMO-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1P8D6jA ) that the inspection came soon after an oversize truck struck the bridge and caused damage early Saturday.
Officials closed the bridge between Buckley and Enumclaw around 11 a.m. That frustrated drivers who were already caught in traffic because of the oversize truck accident.
All east and westbound lanes of SR-410 at the bridge were closed at Milepost 22 as crews removed the truck. After the lanes were cleared, the inspection forced a continued closure.
Officials say the truck damaged the bridge, but say they can’t confirm that the cracks were caused by the truck.
Officials say the bridge will be closed overnight and possibly longer.
