ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - Dubai-based Emirates Airline plans daily flights from Orlando to Dubai starting on Sept. 1.

The Fort Meyers News-Press (https://newspr.es/1J4XMVa ) reports that the new service is part of the airline’s long-term plan to serve 20 U.S. destinations.

The Disney-to-Dubai service has drawn the ire of some U.S. carriers who say Emirates Airline and other airlines based in the region are using unfair government subsidies through so-called “open skies agreements” to fund their global expansion.

Emirates and the other airlines deny that claim.
