SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) - A five-star football recruit from northwest Louisiana threw a pass to his kid brother that broke the brother’s little finger.

Mississippi recruit and Calvary Baptist Academy junior Shea Patterson that he thought it was funny at first when seventh-grader Nick Patterson started jumping up and down Thursday after a pass went through his hands.

He tells The Times (https://bit.ly/1IeyNRO) that he realized it was serious when Nick pulled off his glove.

That ended their game of catch. An X-ray showed that Nick’s little finger had separated above the second knuckle.

Shea also plays baseball for the private school in Shreveport.

Nick is six feet tall - only two inches shorter than his older brother, who committed in February to play in Oxford, Mississippi.

Nick plays tight end.
