RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - The N.C. Highway Patrol is looking into a wreck in Wake County that killed a motorist and a passenger in her car, and also injured the driver of the second car.
Lt. Jeff Gordon said a 2006 Saturn crested a hill on a local road Saturday, crossed the center line and collided head-on with a 2008 Mercedes Benz.
Gordon said 16-year-old Christian Lynn Lockamy of Wendell died in the crash. Her unidentified passenger died after being taken to Wake Medical Center. Gordon said the passenger was not wearing a seat belt.
According to Gordon, the driver of the Mercedes Benz was treated at the hospital and released. He said it does not appear that speed or alcohol were factors in the accident.
