MARKLEVILLE, Ind. (AP) - Central Indiana police say a 23-year-old man tackled his mother’s boyfriend when he allegedly pointed a loaded shotgun at his mother during an argument.
Maj. Joey Cole of the Madison County Sheriff’s Department says the woman’s son tackled 44-year-old Matthew Sean Coates late Thursday, knocking the weapon out of his hand.
The Herald Bulletin reports (https://bit.ly/1MQX9o2 ) Coates faces three felony charges for the incident at the woman’s Markleville home.
Cole says Coates was arguing with the woman in front of her two sons, ages 23 and 11, when she told him he couldn’t enter her home to retrieve some items.
Coates allegedly pointed the shotgun at the woman and struck her and the 11-year-old boy with a piece of wood after the older son knocked the shotgun from his hands.
