PHILADELPHIA, Miss. (AP) - A Crystal Springs man is being held without bond after being charged with two counts of murder in Neshoba County.

The Neshoba Democrat reports (https://bit.ly/1CBO4rh ) that 31-year-old Billy Jerald Mclain was denied bond during an initial court appearance this week.

Sheriff’s Investigator Ralph Sciple says Mclain is charged in the shooting deaths of Gilbert Anthony Woodis and his son, Brandon Lee Woodis in the County Line community on March 27.

Sciple says Mclain had been staying in the Woodis’ home for about two weeks.

County Medical Examiner Allen Collins says the son died of blunt force head trauma and a gunshot wound. The father died of a single gunshot wound.

Gilbert Woodis owned the Wendy’s in Philadelphia, Jackson, Choctaw, Forest and Newton before selling them about three years ago.
