WATERVILLE VALLEY, N.H. (AP) - Giving new meaning to “bunny slope,” several New Hampshire ski areas will be open for Easter Sunday and beyond.

While the end of March often brings the ski season to a close, enough snow has stuck around at some resorts to allow schedules to be stretched into April.

Both Crotched Mountain and Cranmore Mountain are re-opening for this weekend, and are hosting Easter egg hunts on Sunday. Most resorts are featuring reduced prices on lift tickets for the rest of the season. At Crotched Mountain, children will pay their age on Sunday.

Waterville Valley had planned to close Sunday, but will now re-open for one additional weekend. Loon Mountain will remain open daily through April 19, while Bretton Woods will be open daily through April 12 and then again April 18-20.

“It’s been such a great season for us that it’s hard to let it go,” said Waterville Valley CEO Chris Sununu. “The crowds this March have been tremendous and we want to keep the momentum up as long as we can.”

Both Cannon Mountain and Mount Sunapee had planned to close April 12, but will stay open daily through April 19.
