SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) - Jurors have found that an upstate New York woman who drove drunk isn’t guilty of vehicular manslaughter in the fatal 2013 hit-and-run of an intoxicated pedestrian.

The Syracuse Post-Standard (https://bit.ly/1yM2ktC ) reports Saturday that Alicia Alampi will be sentenced next month on misdemeanor drunken driving charges.

A prosecutor says he’s disappointed. Alampi’s attorney says he hopes all parties can live with jurors’ decision.

The paper says Robert BeVard was drunk and walking on a darkened road just after midnight on Dec. 13, 2013, when Alampi struck him with her Jeep Grand Cherokee near a mall.

Alampi was accompanied by an off-duty sheriff’s deputy at the time. She told police she thought she’d hit an object that looked like a tire.

The paper says the two called authorities after driving home.
