Pedestrian hit by car, seriously injured in Portland

PORTLAND, Maine (AP) - Police say a pedestrian is seriously injured after being hit by a car in Portland.

The 75-year-old man was hit on Allen Avenue Friday afternoon.

He was taken to Maine Medical Center. His name has not been released.

The Portland Press Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1CEdWmd) that the driver of the car, a 74-year-old woman, was not hurt.

Police say the accident is being investigated and no charges have been filed.
