TACOMA, Wash. (AP) - A federal judge has sentenced the former owner of a Clallam County car dealership to 11 years in prison for trafficking methamphetamine.
Timothy P. Smith was also ordered to spend five years on supervised release after he serves his prison sentence.
He was arrested last year after a high-speed chase that ended with two sets of spike strips placed on the highway. Smith pleaded guilty in January to possession and distribution charges.
Court records say Smith was the leader of a longstanding meth distribution ring. Officials say he sold the drug out of his “Sellin Style” car dealership in Sequim and other sites around Port Angeles.
Acting U.S. Attorney Annette Hayes called Smith a menace to his community who spread meth and its harm on the Olympic Peninsula.
