SAN DIEGO (AP) - San Diego police have arrested a man they suspect of setting three fires in City Heights - an area hit by more than a dozen blazes last month.

Police say 24-year-old Rolando Resendiz was stopped Saturday morning near the site of a porch fire that was quickly extinguished.

Arson detectives say they located evidence linking him to two March 31 fires and he was booked on suspicion of arson of property and arson of an inhabited structure.

Resendiz remains jailed and it’s not immediately clear whether he has an attorney.

Authorities have been investigating some 15 fires that were set last month in trucks, trash piles and discarded mattresses.
