CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) - Chapel Hill police have arrested a man wanted in a fatal stabbing near downtown.

A statement from police said officers responding to a call late Friday night found a man with a stab wound to the chest. The victim was taken to UNC Hospitals, where he died.

Officials are withholding the victim’s identity pending notification of relatives, but they say he was not a student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Police said 25-year-old Charles Anthony Rhames, who was last seen fleeing on foot, was located in Carrboro and was arrested without incident. He is being held without bond in the Orange County jail. It’s not known if he has an attorney.
