GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) - A toddler has died after being pulled from his family’s outdoor swimming pool at their western Michigan home.

WOOD-TV and The Grand Rapids Press report that the body of the 20-month-old boy was found about 7 p.m. Friday in Grand Rapids.

The Grand Rapids Press reports that the family told police the child went missing during a family gathering.

Authorities performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation after pulling the boy from the in-ground pool.

Police are investigating the death as an accidental drowning.
