Wine festival scheduled for May at Mahoney State Park

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - Eugene T. Mahoney State Park is hosting the second annual Toast Nebraska Wine Festival with 19 wineries from around the state.

The event is scheduled for May 1-2 and will include music, food and conversation against the backdrop of the park.

The weekend will include live entertainment, an amateur wine-making competition, a cigar lounge, jewelry vendors, wine education sessions and trolley tours through the park.

Tickets range from $25 to $65. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Heartland Big Brothers and Big Sisters programs. A state park permit is required for each vehicle entering the park.
