KAILUA-KONA, Hawaii (AP) - The U.S. Geological Survey says two earthquakes Sunday were felt by residents of the Big Island.

Both were larger than magnitude 3.0.

West Hawaii Today (https://bit.ly/1D8DBoP), a Kailua-Kona newspaper, reports a magnitude-3.3 rumbled at 12:16 a.m.

Its epicenter was 10.6 miles northeast of Kawaihae at a depth of 16 miles. People in Waimea reported feeling the quake.

The Hawaiian Volcano Observatory says a magnitude 4.5 quake began at 3:23 a.m. in the Kona area. It was centered 10.1 miles northwest of Kailua-Kona at a depth of 6.2 miles.

More than 200 people in Kailua-Kona had reported feeling the quake by 8:15 a.m.
