NORTH HAVEN, Conn. (AP) - A baby boy in Connecticut couldn’t wait for his mother to get to the hospital early on Easter Sunday.

The North Haven Fire Department says firefighters got a call just after 1 a.m. that a woman was in active labor in the rear of a car on Interstate 91 near Exit 9 southbound.

They transferred the mother to an ambulance and headed to Yale-New Haven Hospital. The healthy baby was delivered a few miles down the road near Exit 2.

The fire department says the mother and baby are doing well.
