LOS ANGELES (AP) - Authorities are looking for a North Las Vegas couple and their five children who may have gone to California, leaving behind a 3-year-old girl who was later found dead.
Police want to question Jondrew Lachaux and Kellie Phillips. City News Service says they may be in Los Angeles or Oakland.
The body of the couple’s 3-year-old daughter was found Thursday in the family’s home. Police say the girl had been dead for at least a few weeks but the cause of her death is unclear.
Police say the girl had been left in the care of her 17-year-old sister for months. That teen was arrested for child abuse and police say her own 4-month-old daughter is hospitalized in critical condition because of severe malnourishment.
