FRANKLIN, Tenn. (AP) - Authorities say two teenagers who assaulted jail officers and escaped from a Franklin detention facility are back in custody.
The Tennessean reports (https://tnne.ws/1MTW12W) William Malone III and Lavarious McClain surrendered to police Saturday night in Columbia.
Officials say they had been on the run since Thursday when they locked the juvenile detention officers in a cell around 10:30 p.m.
The teenagers were to be brought to Franklin and booked in the Williamson County Juvenile Detention Facility.
Authorities say Malone was initially held on robbery, theft and aggravated burglary charges, while McClain was in the facility for minor juvenile offenses. After the Thursday incident, the two now face two counts of assault, two counts of false imprisonment and escape.
