HASTINGS, N.D. (AP) - A church that has served the southeastern North Dakota community of Hastings for more than a century is closing.

The Valley City Times-Record reports (https://bit.ly/1OVzAJh ) that a declining congregation is prompting Spring Creek Lutheran Church to shut down after 116 years.

The final worship service is scheduled for Sunday, June 28. Pastor Marcia Hegna will continue leading First Lutheran Church in nearby Litchville.
