CHICAGO (AP) - Authorities in Chicago say a person suspected of driving a stolen car ran from officers onto a freeway where he was hit by a car.

Chicago police say officers saw a stolen vehicle around 1 a.m. Sunday on the city’s far South Side. The driver led police on a chase where he crashed the vehicle.

The Chicago Sun-Times reports (https://bit.ly/19V6bhv ) that Illinois State Police say the man then ran on to the northbound lanes of Interstate 94 and was struck by a car.



He was taken to a hospital in Oak Lawn in serious condition.

Charges were pending Sunday.
