MARTINSBURG, W.Va. (AP) - A Martinsburg man convicted of killing his wife will spend the rest of his life behind bars.
Media outlets report that 31-year-old Rickie Lee Greenfield Jr. was sentenced on Friday in Berkeley County Circuit Court to life in prison with no mercy. No mercy means he has no chance of parole.
Greenfield was convicted on Jan. 30 of first-degree murder.
Police have said Greenfield’s wife, 29-year-old Jill Ann Greenfield, was found dead on a bed in August 2013. A blood-stained hammer was found next to her. An autopsy found that she had been hit in the head several times.
