BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - Polish pride will be on full display during Buffalo’s annual Dyngus (DING-guhs) Day celebration.

The post-Lenten party will feature a parade, polka bands, pierogi and pussy willows. The latter are used for flirting, with boys and girls tapping each other with the twigs and sprinkling water on each other.

Buffalo is one of a handful of cities that celebrates the holiday, which falls on the Monday after Easter. Organizers say this year’s celebrations will include a wedding.

Other cities with celebrations include Cleveland, Ohio; South Bend, Indiana; Elizabeth, New Jersey and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
