ABERDEEN, Miss. (AP) - The Monroe County Airport’s new terminal will be named after Aero English - a pilot who has used the airport since it was built, and whose flight students have included a man who later became the Army’s first astronaut.

His daughter, Lauren English Hamilton, tells The Monroe Journal (https://bit.ly/1CHFDKR) that Saturday’s ceremony will include a speech by the former astronaut, retired Brig. Gen. Robert Stewart.

She says her father has flown since childhood, and his father built his first airplane.

She expects 60 to 70 planes to fly in Saturday. The ceremony is at 11 a.m., with an open house from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
