SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. (AP) - A female entrepreneur plans to discuss with a state women’s group how companies can learn from international business and improve their own operations.

Susan Puska is the guest speaker Monday at a meeting of the Michigan Women’s Commission. The CEO and president of Kanava International LLC is on the agenda for the meeting in Sault Ste. Marie.

Puska is a retired U.S. Army colonel who has lived and worked in China as well as overseen humanitarian efforts in Cuba and Haiti. Her business and government consulting company is based in Washington, D.C., but she opened a satellite office earlier this year in Sault Ste. Marie, her hometown.
