GREENVILLE, Miss. (AP) - Boutique Air will begin service to Greenville on Oct. 1.

The Delta Democrat-Times reports (https://bit.ly/1IZM68A ) the U.S. Department of Transportation gave its approval Friday.

San Francisco-based Boutique Air will offer three daily nonstop round-trips to Nashville International Airport through Sept. 30, 2017.

The airline operates a nine-passenger Pilatus PC-12 aircraft.

Greenville began seeking out a new airline in May, when Seaport Airlines announced its intentions to end service to and from Greenville Mid-Delta Airport.

After receiving proposals from four airlines, the city council during a special session July 16 unanimously chose Boutique Air as Greenville’s next airline.

The federal government, under terms of its two-year Essential Air Service contract with the airline, will provide Boutique with an annual subsidy of $2.09 million for its service to and from Greenville.
