ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - Authorities are investigating following the death of a central Florida jail inmate.

Orange County Jail officials say 22-year-old Max Gracia was moved from the facility’s medical unit on Monday to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Officials didn’t immediately say why Gracia had been in the jail’s medical unit.

Gracia was arrested Thursday after authorities say he robbed a convenience store at gunpoint. Police reportedly used a K-9 to track Gracia. A report says he fought with the dog, but it didn’t say whether the animal bit him.

The Orlando Sentinel (https://goo.gl/CNV3Za ) reports that an autopsy will be conducted to determine what caused Gracia’s death.
