BESSEMER, Ala. (AP) - Authorities have charged a Jefferson County woman with murder in the death of another woman with whom she shared mobile home.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said in news release Monday that 57-year-old Karen Kirby has been arrested and charged with murder in the slaying of 34-year-old Miranda Michelle Lynch.
Kirby was in the Jefferson County jail on $75,000 bond. It wasn’t immediately clear whether she has a lawyer who could comment on the charges.
Deputies were called to the mobile home Friday after a person called and said he could hear women screaming inside.
Deputies found Lynch dead on the bathroom floor with apparent head wounds. The sheriff’s office says Kirby told deputies she hit Lynch in the head several times with various objects during an argument.
