TULARE, Calif. (AP) - Authorities say two teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of shooting and killing a 16-year-old boy in Central California.

Police in Tulare said Monday that officers responded to reports of shots fired late Friday night near a park in a residential area.

They found the victim, Luis Arenas of Tulare, with a gunshot wound. He was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.



The Fresno Bee reports (https://bit.ly/1N0Ad4S ) during the investigation, two suspects - 18-year-old Jesus Navarro and an unidentified 17-year-old boy - were identified and taken into custody.

It wasn’t immediately known if the suspects have lawyers.

The investigation is ongoing.
