FRONT ROYAL, Va. (AP) - Virginia State Police have charged a 14-year-old boy from West Virginia with striking a trooper’s patrol car during a pursuit.

State police spokeswoman Corinne Geller says the male from Philippi, West Virginia, was charged with several felonies following Saturday’s chase, including assault on a law enforcement officer and hit-and-run.

Geller says troopers joined a Front Royal police officer in the pursuit, which made its way onto Interstate 66 and other roads in Clarke and Frederick counties. At one point the suspect’s vehicle struck a trooper’s patrol car that was blocking a road.

The suspect’s vehicle was eventually stopped in Frederick County and the driver and a 14-year-old passenger were taken into custody. No one was injured.
