FAIRBANKS, Alaska (AP) - A man riding in a minivan died early Wednesday morning in a crash off the Richardson Highway between North Pole and Fairbanks.

The man’s name was not immediately released because his next of kin had not been notified.

Six people were in the van being driven by 21-year-old Matthew York of North Pole.

Troopers took a call on the crash at 2:22 a.m.

Troopers say York was driving south and may have fallen asleep.

The minivan left the highway and rolled.

A woman passenger in the minivan was flown with injuries to an Anchorage hospital.

Three juveniles in the minivan were transported to a hospital for evaluation.

The crash occurred 5.5 miles north of North Pole and a mile south of the highway junction with Badger Road.
