Man’s death near Harrisburg investigated as homicide

HARRISBURG, Ark. (AP) - Poinsett County authorities say the death of a man found in a home near Harrisburg is being investigated as a homicide.

Sheriff Larry Mills told The Jonesboro Sun (https://bit.ly/1NcGCZG ) that 46-year-old Jefferson Scott Crawford was found dead in the home Saturday night. Mills said he did not release the information for four days because “it is an ongoing investigation.”

Mills also declined to say how Crawford is believed to have died.

Mills said the body and evidence has been sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab in Little Rock.
