CINCINNATI (AP) - A 25-year-old Cincinnati man has been indicted on murder charges in the fatal shooting of a woman and the wounding of her granddaughter.

Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters (DEE’-turs) says a grand jury indicted Cordaro McGhee on charges including two counts of aggravated murder with death penalty specifications.

He was charged in the May 17 death of 49-year-old Jean Elliott, who was shot. Authorities say a 12-year-old girl who was wounded in the chest and hit in the head with McGhee’s gun recovered. They say two other granddaughters in the home weren’t hurt.

Authorities say Elliott didn’t know McGhee, who is accused of entering her home through an unlocked door and demanding money.

A message was left Thursday for McGhee’s public defender. McGhee was in jail on $1.5 million bond.
