YAKIMA, Wash. (AP) - Two people were injured Friday in a three-vehicle crash tied to a dust storm near Prosser, Washington. The Washington State Patrol says State Route 221 has been closed because of the blowing dust.

Sergio Mendez of Mabton, Washington, and Cydney Riddle of Hermiston, Oregon, were taken to a nearby hospital after the 3:40 p.m. crash about nine miles south of Prosser.

High winds had caused a dust storm, prompting the state Department of Transportation to indefinitely close the road from Prosser to State Route 14 near the Columbia River.
