POWNAL, Vt. (AP) - Organizers have cancelled a concert featuring the band ZZ Top that was planned for the former Green Mountain Race Track in Pownal next weekend.

The Berkshire Eagle reports (https://bit.ly/1gEF1PD) that a disagreement over a railroad crossing appears to have prompted organizers to pull the plug on the event.

Railroad owners tell the newspaper that organizations did not get the legal agreement needed to use the rail crossing over a road that provides access to the site.

But an official with the concert’s promotion company says the railroad approved the event. He said with the short notice that organizers didn’t have permission to use the crossing he was forced to cancel the concert.

The event was expected to draw 12,000 to 15,000 concertgoers on Aug. 22.
