CHICAGO (AP) - Promoters of the Lollapalooza music festival say they will pay $236,000 to the Chicago Park District for repairs to Grant Park.

The Chicago Sun-Times reports (https://bit.ly/1DTSjT1), park district officials say work is already underway to repair ground muddied by rain and thousands of festival goers. Officials say they expect the work to be completed by the end of September.

The money being spent this year on repairs is far less than the $800,000 used to repair damage to the park 2011 torrential downpour that prompted evacuation of the festival.

About $6,500 in repairs will be done to Union Park, where the Pitchfork Music Festival was held in July. Officials say the work will begin in September.
