The Italian Army’s Folgore Regiment, conduct a night raid at Novo Selo Training Area, Bulgaria as part of Exercise Swift Response 15. The paratroopers parachuted in to nearby Tenevo Airfield in a combined jump with U.S. and Bulgarian paratroopers led by the 173rd Airborne Brigade. Helicopters from the U.S. Army’s 4th Battalion, 3rd Combat Aviation Bde., 3rd Inf. Div. provided lift assets to allow the paratroopers rapid access to the target.
