SMYRNA, Del. (AP) - Delaware State Police have charged a teenager from Smyrna with impersonating a police officer after he attempted to pull over a female driver with his car.
Police say the incident occurred just after midnight on Aug. 24. Investigators say the 24-year-old victim was driving along Bayside Road when the car she was behind pulled over and allowed her to pass.
Police say the car pulled back out behind the victim and activated strobe lights. The victim thought the car was a police officer. The victim pulled over, but the car passed by her. As the victim continued on, she saw the car was again pulled over, and it again followed her with lights flashing.
The victim did not stop and called 911. Smyrna police then stopped the suspect vehicle.
