NORMAN, Okla. (AP) - Norman police say a man is hospitalized after being shot by an officer when the man pointed a hand gun at police.

Police say officers were called Saturday night to a home in far northeast Norman to investigate reports of a man with a gun who was threatening to kill people. Police say officers found a man outside the home and that an officer shot him one time when the man pointed a gun at an officer.

Police say the man was taken to a hospital in undisclosed condition.



The names of the man and the officer were not released.
