DALLAS (AP) - A security guard at a Dallas office tower is accused of murder after allegedly calling 911 and saying he shot his wife because he feared for his life.
Dallas police say David Thompson shot his wife late Saturday night in the lobby of the Bank Tower at Oak Cliff, where he was working as a guard. Police say Thompson’s wife went to the tower to confront him over alleged incidents of infidelity.
A police affidavit says Thompson believed his wife was reaching for his pistol, and the two began to struggle. Thompson allegedly drew his weapon and fired.
Police say the woman was not carrying a weapon of her own.
Thompson is being held on $500,000 bond and did not have an attorney listed in jail records.
