RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) - U.S. Veterans Magazine has named the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology as one of the country’s top veteran-friendly schools.

The Rapid City school made the 2015 Best of the Best list. The magazine polled hundreds of universities for this year’s evaluations.

The School of Mines enrolls more than 100 active duty and veteran students from all military branches. It also offers a Veterans Resource Center on campus with study space, veteran-to-veteran tutoring, counseling referrals and résumé assistance. A patient advocate from the VA Black Hills Health Care System visits monthly.

The school has been home to an Army ROTC program since 1918 and added a new minor in military science this year.
