NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - Charleston County authorities have released the name of a man shot to death over the weekend.
The coroner’s office told local media that 28-year-old Jean James Jacques of North Charleston died from the shooting.
Police say Jacques was shot shortly before noon Saturday as he was sitting in the passenger seat of a van. Police found him on the sidewalk and he was taken to the Medical University of South Carolina Hospital in Charleston where he died.
Police spokesman Spencer Pryor says 24-year-old Isaac Deas of Charleston has been charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
If was not clear if Deas has an attorney.
