CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - Police have charged a man with murder in the shooting death of a woman in suburban Charleston.

The Charleston County Coroner’s Office tells local media outlets that 35-year-old Pamela Burgess of Charleston died of a gunshot wound shortly before 8:30 on Wednesday morning. The shooting occurred inside an apartment.

Police have charged 28-year-old William Thomas Gule Jr. with murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime. It was not immediately known if he had an attorney.



Police are investigating what led up to the shooting.
