Swiss club fires coach after loss in Champions League qualis

BERN, Switzerland (AP) - Swiss club Young Boys has fired coach Uli Forte after losing to Monaco in the Champions League third qualifying round.

Young Boys sports director Fredy Bickel says in a statement the club “has lost its way” after a winless start to the season.

Forte’s team lost to Monaco 7-1 on aggregate, and has drawn all three of its Swiss League matches.

The 41-year-old Forte was in his third season at Young Boys, which placed third and second in a league dominated by Basel.
