ALBANY, Ore. (AP) - An Albany woman who ran over and killed her boyfriend as he was working on his Chevrolet Camaro in 2013 has pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of intoxicants.

The Albany Democrat-Herald reports (https://is.gd/7Wgc0J ) that 43-year-old Melanie Ann Cavyell pleaded guilty to the DUI charge Thursday but pleaded no contest to criminally negligent homicide in the death of 45-year-old Steven Priestly.

As part of an agreement, both the prosecution and defense have recommended that Cavyell avoid a prison sentence and instead be placed on probation and serve some time in jail.

Priestly had been working on his car in the Edgewood Mobile Home Park in December 2013 when the Camaro ran over him, causing the fatal injuries.

A sentencing hearing has been set for Oct. 1.
