ALAMEDA, Calif. (AP) - A young burn survivor and a homeless puppy who suffered severe chemical burns have been united by an animal rescue group and both couldn’t be happier about the new friendship.
The Oakland Tribune reports (https://bayareane.ws/1IN3Ork) Friday that 12-year-old San Francisco Bay Area resident Chloe Levenson recently adopted the Chihuahua, now appropriately called Buddy. He had burns stretched across his belly and his ears were also so severely burned that they had to be amputated. The cause of the burns was not released.
The girl could relate. She has had seven surgeries for severe burns she suffered as a baby when someone spilled scalding tea on her.
The two found each other through Umbrella of Hope animal rescue.
Together now, the girl discovered her pup knows how to fetch toys and enjoys cuddling while she watches TV.
