ASPEN, Colo. (AP) - A woman who drove her vehicle across the center line on Highway 133 and collided head-on with another vehicle, killing a 21-year-old college student, has agreed to pay more than $31,500 in restitution months after her sentencing.

The Aspen Daily News reports (https://bit.ly/1gOdXOK ) that Christine Tinner had been opposing the prosecution’s motion for restitution, contesting some of the travel expenses Meleyna Kistner’s family incurred by coming to Aspen for court hearings.

Tinner was sentenced in April to probation and community service after her guilty plea. The August 2014 crash killed Kistner and seriously injured her boyfriend Daniel Thul.

Prosecutor Andrea Bryan filed a notice this week saying that the defense had agreed to pay the restitution. Bryan says the money will go to Kistner’s parents and Thul.
